Heaps of fun! Sweet as!

Kia ora,

Just munched my beetroot burger with kumara fries and fritters on the side. Yes, I am still in New Zealand.

A couple of months ago we went on a working road trip to New Plymouth with Corry, Remy and Sankalp. A good reason to get out of Auckland into the wop-wops. You know it has been a successful road trip when the regional sales manager of a competitor calls Switch Utilities to apply for a position. We finished the road trip at an Indian restaurant, which we signed up afterwards and for which Remy paid because I beat him in a round of Poker. If only it would always be as successful, we wouldn't
need the boxing bag we recently purchased for some after work punches in the office.

After this trip stacked up my wallet I went with Hannah to Waiheke Island for a little getaway from the world. It really felt like a separation from the world, just like Hannah's umbrella got separated from her when she dropped it in the ocean. There was no reason to get out of the cosy rooms and I didn't even have to get out of bed because breakfast got all served up. The occasional time we went outside was for a planned dive in the ocean, if it wasn't that the clouds took over while we got there. This even turned the nude beach into an all-round beach. At least we got access to a private spa pool after wiping the spiders off the benches that got left behind from last season.

The last two weeks Alex came around so we joined up for a road trip. It started, due to unforeseen circumstances, a little later than expected in Taupo where Annabelle hosted us and got the dinner and dessert all dished up when we arrived. After this we got into Wellington to "nose" around the city and find ourselves waiting for a beer pong tournament which never took place. After been on a road trip for a handful of days we arrived at the Hanmer Springs where we could finally fresh ourselves up after been sleeping in the car for several nights. The next night we stayed at my families place in Christchurch where we finally got some proper food after been eating peanut butter jelly sandwiches all day round... It all sounds more homeless than it actually felt like though.

The next four days we went snowboarding at Mt Hutt which was very cool. The whole track was ours because the ski season just got started so we actually survived this without hurting ourselves or anyone else.
However, taking the "Virgin Mile" and "Bob's Knob" slightly hurt my stomach due to tight edges and long drops.

Following destination is Queenstown, the city of outdoor activities. One night after a couple of beers, only after a couple of beers, we found the guts to book a skydiving trip. The next morning we woke up and realized we actually booked it, so off we went and hours later we found ourselves 12.000 ft. above the ground, sitting behind us a massive guy who is gonna use his weight forward to push us out of an airplane. Still can't believe I have done this!

The last couple of days we drove all the way back up to the North Island again. Even the scenery was hard to take in, as we really got used to
seeing beautiful icy mountains, amazing lakes and superb glaciers. Some of the scenery we even experienced twice by watching Lord of the Rings in the car. Surprisingly the car brought us back all the way up to Hamilton again for Hannah's birthday party.... Three days before the road trip, the car showed me another unreliable side (again), but it got fixed right in time so we could use it as car, restaurant and hotel during our road trip. Though, the police couldn't agree less on this, which got us a ticket under the window wipers.

This week I just got back to work and I am currently staying in a hostel, of which rooms wouldn't be perceived different from a prison's room. But at least this is saving us money again for the next trip with Hannah to ............... Australia!
